Job summary

Copeland in Mexico is seeking a Commodity Manager to lead strategic sourcing for Direct Materials within our Controls & Solutions unit. You will develop sourcing strategies, drive supplier development, reduce costs, and improve delivery performance while aligning with corporate goals.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, five years in procurement, strong project management, and the ability to communicate across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, business or related field.
• Five years of experience in a procurement function or related role.
• Strong project management skills.
• Strategic-oriented, able to deliver timely results.
• Ability to review processes and suggest improvements.
• Proficient with word processing, spreadsheets, and charts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a Direct Material sourcing strategy to improve flexibility and supply assurance.
• Forecast containment and inflation projects for current and future years.
• Establish goals to improve trade working capital with longer payment terms, lower inventory, and shorter lead times.
• Develop a capacity and regionalization plan for each part of the commodity.
• Establish agreements with suppliers.
• Perform electronic sourcing bid events.
• Collaborate with Supplier Quality to improve supplier performance (PPM).
• Effectively communicate, lead meetings, make presentations, and use tact and professionalism.
