Job summary

Watlow Mexico, a leader in industrial thermal technology, seeks an experienced Staff Quality Engineer to drive QMS development and continuous improvement at its El Marqués plant in Querétaro.

You will partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Leadership to ensure ISO 9001:2015 compliance, lead internal audits, manage change control, and build robust quality processes across the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field with exposure to quality systems.
• Solid knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and internal audit practices.
• Experience solving cross-functional quality issues using structured methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Ensure ISO 9001:2015 conformance and adherence to customer/regulatory requirements.
• Develop quality roadmaps aligned with business objectives and operational excellence.
• Serve as site SME for quality system requirements, interpretation, and implementation.
• Own Audit and Compliance Programs, including planning, execution, and follow-up.
• Lead customer, regulatory, and third-party certification audits.
• Conduct gap assessments and implement corrective actions for compliance risks.
• Maintain readiness for audits and certify ongoing compliance.
• Drive document control and change management governance.

We are seeking an experienced Staff Quality Engineer to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our Quality Management System (QMS). The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations, and Leadership teams to ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and other applicable customer, regulatory, and business requirements while driving operational excellence through robust quality system processes.

The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in Quality Management Systems, auditing, risk management, document control, and change management, combined with strong leadership skills and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015, customer-specific requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
• Establish quality system roadmaps aligned with business objectives and operational excellence initiatives.
• Serve as the site subject matter expert for quality system requirements, interpretation, and implementation.
• Own Audit and Compliance Programs
• Develop and manage the internal audit program, including planning, execution, reporting, and follow-up actions.
• Lead customer, regulatory, and third-party certification audits.
• Conduct gap assessments and develop corrective action plans to address compliance risks.
• Ensure timely closure and effectiveness verification of audit findings and nonconformities.
• Maintain organizational audit readiness and certification compliance.
• Drive Document Control and Change Management
• Provide leadership for document control processes and quality system documentation governance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Quality Engineering or Quality Systems within aerospace, defense, aviation, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries.
• Thorough knowledge of ISO 9001:2015
• Experience planning and conducting internal quality audits.
• Experience leading or facilitating eight disciplines (8D) problem solving or similar corrective methodologies to determine root cause and implement permanent corrective action.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to executive leadership and external auditors.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office.
