Sulzer is seeking a Senior Tendering Engineer to lead high-level technical bids and coordinate global communications among regional and international stakeholders. You will balance technical accuracy with commercial strategy while mentoring junior staff and managing day-to-day tenders.

The role requires a strong background in hydraulics, centrifugal pumps, and related components, with fluency in English and a track record of delivering technically sound proposals that win business.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Chemical Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Application Specialist in the pump industry.
• Advanced proficiency in English (reading, speaking, and writing).

Responsabilidades

• Prepare quotations for major projects with sales, regional managers, distributors, and alliance managers.
• Assist management with major project tender signoffs under DoA framework.
• Propose innovative solutions to clients based on technical expertise and seniority.
• Supervise Application Engineers I and II to ensure alignment and growth.
• Bridge between Sales, operations, project management, and external factories across regions.
• Support regional sales plans through technical proposal excellence.
• Analyze customer specs, define scope, and manage post-submission clarifications.
• Maintain data accuracy in CRM tools (Salesforce) for reliable forecasts.

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tendering Engineer to act as a high-level technical lead and strategic partner to management. You will be the central pivot point for the bidding process, balancing technical accuracy with commercial strategy while facilitating complex global communication between regional and international stakeholders. This role requires a candidate capable of driving strategic business decisions while mentoring junior staff and managing day-to-day technical tenders.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare quotations for major projects in close coordination with sales personnel, regional managers, distributors, representatives, and alliance managers.
• Assist management with major project tender signoffs as required by the company’s Delegation of Authority (DoA) framework.
• Propose innovative solutions to clients based on your extensive technical expertise and seniority to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Supervise the activities of Application Engineers I and II, providing guidance to ensure team alignment, productivity, and professional growth.
• Act as the critical bridge between Sales, internal operations, project management, and factories located outside the PU NAM region.
• Actively support the achievement of regional sales plan objectives through technical proposal excellence.
• Analyze customer specifications, define scope, evaluate "buy-out" components (e.g., seals, couplings, actuators), and manage post-submission technical/commercial clarifications.
• Maintain and supervise data accuracy in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce/RFT) to ensure reliable sales forecasts and workload reporting.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education: Bachelor’s degree (Licenciatura) in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or related Engineering.

Experience

• Mandatory: Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Application Specialist specifically within the pump industry.
• Desirable: 2 years of experience in group supervision or leadership activities.

Language Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in English (reading, speaking, and writing) is required.

Technical Competencies (Advanced Level Required)

• Expertise in hydraulics, centrifugal pumps, and their accessories.

Software Proficiency

• Advanced: Microsoft Office, pump selection and costing software, and CRM (SalesForce or similar).
• Basic: SAP.
