Improving is seeking a Sr Python Developer with expertise in LLM-driven document processing and XBRL to join our team.

You will harden production, build backend services and APIs, develop UI, and integrate XML/XHTML processing with reporting systems. Collaboration with R&D and cross-functional teams is essential for success.

Formación

• 7+ years of software development experience.
• Hands-on Python-based document processing pipelines.
• Experience with AI-powered applications using LLMs in production.
• Experience building web apps and REST APIs.
• Familiarity with XML, XHTML, and data transformation pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
• Bonus: XBRL, financial compliance or regulatory reporting.

Responsabilidades

• Drive production hardening of the current proof-of-concept — code quality, performance optimization, and reliability improvements
• Establish foundational infrastructure and architectural patterns (pipeline architecture, logging, configuration management, error handling)
• Develop and evolve the web user interface, ensuring usability and alignment with our engineering standards
• Build and maintain backend services and APIs that support the tagging workflow
• Work with XHTML and XML processing, integrating with internal reporting systems to handle input data and generate compliant XBRL packages
• Collaborate with the R&D team to understand AI tagging improvements and surface engineering requirements
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and production support

What you'll do

• Drive production hardening of the current proof-of-concept — code quality, performance optimization, and reliability improvements

What you'll bring

• 7+ years of software development experience, with demonstrated expertise building production systems
• Hands-on experience developing Python-based document processing pipelines (parsing, transformation, and metadata extraction from structured and semi-structured documents)
• Experience building AI-powered applications with Large Language Models — integrating and orchestrating them in production, including prompt engineering, workflow orchestration, error handling, and result evaluation
• Experience building web applications and REST APIs
• Familiarity with XML, XHTML, and data transformation pipelines
• Strong problem-solving skills and comfort with ambiguity in early-stage products
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
• Bonus points: XBRL, financial compliance or regulatory reporting; investment company operations and SEC filing requirements; Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG); modern web frameworks and full-stack development; scaling systems and performance optimization
