ABB Mexico is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of designers and engineers delivering high-quality, cost-effective solutions on site. You will plan, allocate resources, and drive timely execution to meet contractual, operational, and financial targets.

The role operates on-site within the LV Switchboard, ELSP Division for the North America market, collaborating with the Operations team to ensure safety, cybersecurity, and quality throughout projects.

Formación

• 5+ years of experience in a similar or related role.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment engineering.
• Knowledge of electrical design standards and regulations (UL, NFPA).
• Experience leading electrical and/or mechanical engineering projects.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Responsabilidades

• Provide leadership and direction to the engineering team, with a focus on functional safety, cybersecurity, on-time delivery, quality, and margin improvement.
• Ensure the projects and operations portfolio follows sound methodologies and execution practices, and that projects meet contractual requirements.
• Initiate, coordinate, drive, and oversee continuous improvement of processes to strengthen engineering capabilities, reduce lead times, and enhance safety and cybersecurity.
• Drive team performance to ensure project deliverables are completed on time and to contract specifications, safety, and quality requirements.

This position reports to:

Global Engineering Manager

Your Role: Own the Challenge

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead a team of designers and engineers in delivering high-quality, cost-effective, and timely engineering solutions to customers. Each day, you will develop plans and allocate resources to achieve agreed contractual, operational, and financial targets. You will also demonstrate your leadership skills by initiating, coordinating, driving, and overseeing team development and continuous process improvement initiatives that strengthen engineering and design capabilities.

The work model for the role is: On site

This role is contributing to the LV Switchboard, ELSP Division in the North America market. Main stakeholders are the Operations Team, located in the same facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to the engineering team, with a focus on functional safety, cybersecurity, on-time delivery, quality, and margin improvement.
• Ensure the projects and operations portfolio follows sound methodologies and execution practices in accordance with internal standards and procedures, and that projects are completed according to contractual requirements.
• Initiate, coordinate, drive, and oversee continuous improvement of processes and procedures to strengthen engineering and design capabilities, improve efficiency, leverage agile methodologies to reduce engineering lead times, and enhance functional safety and cybersecurity.
• Drive team performance to ensure project deliverables are completed on time and in accordance with contractual specifications, as well as safety, cybersecurity, and quality requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a similar or related role.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment engineering.
• Knowledge of electrical design standards and regulations, such as UL and NFPA.
• Experience leading electrical and/or mechanical engineering projects.
• Knowledge of mechanical design and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools, such as Windchill, CREO, EPLAN, Autocad or similar platforms.
• Experience with data analysis and performance metrics.
• Advanced English proficiency.
