Job summary

Siemens in Mexico is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop and release medium voltage components and switchgears using NX and Teamcenter. You will ensure designs meet PDP and international standards, create manufacturing drawings, and manage BOMs while coordinating with project teams to meet schedules.

Applicants should hold a Bachelor in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering with up to 2 years of related experience, and be proficient in English.

Responsibilities

• Process allocated work packages ensuring timely and quality solutions.
• Design solutions per IEC/ANSI/CSA/UL standards; release and archive design data.
• Create design drawings for manufacturing and purchasing parts; prepare BOMs.
• Order samples and coordinate sample assembly; integrate feedback into design.
• Collaborate across functions with project managers, designers, and financial controllers.

Responsibilities

The mechanical designer engineer is responsible for processing the allocated work packages and their timely and quality solution for the project which has been assigned.

Design solutions must be according to required IEC or ANSI standards.

Implementation of requirements in a work schedule under the professional guidance of the project / team manager, realization of design/work packages in the NX system & releasing and archiving of design data as per standard AIS procedure creation of specific design drawings for manufacturing and purchasing parts, Bill of materials including all necessary parts for assembly following our standard procedures and standards.

Processing of work packages until creation of prototypes "Sample ordering: Preparation of sample orders according to the sample assembly process.

Description of sample setup and intended application & Integrating the feedback from the sample assembly into the design, timely and successful performance of prototype tests, performance of orientating tests, improvement designs using ideas for

Requirements

Basic knowledge of Product development process (PDP) Medium voltage technology – switching devices and switchgears including low voltage products. Understanding

IEC, ANSI, CSA, UL, EN and where applicable customer standards

Content and work flow of development and type tests of medium voltage components and switchgears.

NX Team center system for design with main subject “Concurrent Engineering

SAP knowledge to technical basic data and project data

Requirements Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering.

Typically up to 2 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.

Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable.

English communication skills, writing, reading and technical conversation.

Reporting line to R&D Manager, and open communication with different interphases in factory and designers, PM's and Financial controlling.
