SSOE Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the design of electrical systems for large industrial facilities. You will manage BIM-driven design deliverables, coordinate across multiple disciplines, and ensure compliance with NEC/NFPA/IES codes.

The role requires strong leadership, senior technical expertise, and mentoring of junior engineers. Hybrid work flexibility is available, with a focus on delivering high-quality projects for automotive plants, warehouses, data

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 13+ years electrical design experience in AEC, large industrial facilities.
  • Professional license in Mexico (Título and Cédula).
  • Strong knowledge of power distribution, lighting, grounding, and low-voltage systems.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead design and development of electrical systems for large industrial projects (power distribution, lighting, grounding).
  • Manage design deliverables using Revit/BIM and ensure model quality and coordination.
  • Perform load calculations, short-circuit studies, and lighting analyses with industry tools.
  • Coordinate with architecture, structure, and mechanical teams to deliver integrated designs.
  • Present design progress in client meetings and manage scope and budgets.

Responsibilities

The following duties are typical of the position but are not all encompassing. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment.

  • Lead s the design and development of electrical systems for large-scale industrial projects, including power distribution (medium - and low - voltage), lighting, and grounding systems.
  • Manage s and execute s design deliverables using Revit / BIM platforms, applying SSOE standards for model quality and coordination.
  • Perform s and review s load calculations, short-circuit and coordination studies, and lighting analysis using industry software.
  • Represents the firm in meetings and conferences to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate a project.
  • Defines project scope of work and organizes into manageable tasks.
  • Provides supervisor and project manager with scope of work change warnings.
  • Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments.
  • Makes independent decisions on complex electrical engineering problems, practices, and methods, and may create or refine unique design solutions.
  • Supervision and guidance related largely to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, policy matters, and/or unusual problems and developments.
  • Plans, develops, coordinates, and directs a medium to large engineering project or several smaller complex projects with overall responsibility for budget adherence, schedule adherence, quality control, and inter-discipline coordination.
  • Responsible for the acceptance or rejection of major items involving materials, equipment, manufacturer's quality, and field construction, as applicable.
  • Ensure s electrical designs align with all applicable codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IES, local jurisdictional requirements).
  • Serve s as discipline lead on complex projects—planning tasks, overseeing junior engineers/designers, and reviewing design documentation for accuracy.
  • May serve as a discipline advisor or technical specialist on complex or specialized electrical engineering matters.
  • Collaborate s closely with architectural, structural, and mechanical teams to deliver coordinated, efficient building designs.
  • Participate s in client engagement: define project scope, present design progress, and ensure client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop s or review s technical specifications and cost estimates.
  • Mentor s emerging designers and engineers, promoting technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
  • Keeps current on new design methods, industry standards, and technologies.
  • Support s project management and business development activities as needed.
  • Occasional travel for coordination workshops.
Qualifications
What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical, or any other related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
  • 13+ years of relevant electrical design engineering experience within the AEC industry, with a focus on large industrial facilities (Automotive plants, Industrial Warehouses, Manufacturing Plants, Data Centers, etc.).
  • Professional license in Mexico is required (Título and Cédula Profesional).
  • Demonstrated expertise in power distribution, lighting, grounding, and low-voltage systems design.
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and related BIM coordination tools.
  • Familiarity with industry software such as SKM Power Tools, ETAP, Easy Power, or AGi32.
  • Deep understanding of NEC, NFPA, IES, and applicable energy codes.
  • Strong ability to lead multidisciplinary design teams and manage deliverables for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
