Capgemini Mexico is seeking a Senior Automation / Functional Quality Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of enterprise applications through robust test automation and API validation strategies.

You will design automated solutions with Java and Playwright, lead REST API testing for microservices, and mentor teams in agile environments to drive quality engineering excellence.

Your Role As a Senior Automation / Functional Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and scalability of enterprise applications through robust test automation and API validation strategies. This position is ideal for experienced QA professionals who bring strong expertise in Java, REST API testing, and Playwright, and who thrive in agile, fast-paced delivery environments. You will collaborate closely with developers, architects, product stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to drive quality engineering best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of testing frameworks and processes. The role focuses primarily on API testing using Java technologies, requiring a proactive mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to influence quality outcomes across the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities & Scope

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test solutions using Java and Playwright.
• Lead testing efforts for complex REST API integrations and microservices-based applications.
• Create and execute comprehensive functional, integration, and end-to-end test scenarios.
• Contribute to the evolution of automation frameworks, standards, and quality engineering best practices.
• Partner with development teams to identify quality risks early and implement preventive solutions.
• Work in agile delivery teams focused on continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
• Analyze test results, troubleshoot defects, and provide actionable recommendations to improve product quality.
• Drive a quality-first mindset by promoting automation, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge across teams.
