Amphenol TCS de México, S.A. de C.V. in Mexicali seeks an Automation Engineer with 3–5 years of experience to design automation solutions for manufacturing, applying Lean principles to maximize efficiency and manufacturability.

You will lead projects, coordinate equipment purchases, provide training, and work with internal and external customers and vendors to resolve issues, travel as needed and support automation upgrades.

Formación

• 3–5 years of manufacturing automation experience.
• Strong Lean manufacturing knowledge with kanban and Poke-Yoke.
• Project management and cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsabilidades

• Plan and design automation solutions for manufacturing processes.
• Develop and implement improvements to automation in assembly, machining and inspection.
• Manage equipment purchase and installation.
• Coordinate projects and communicate with customers and vendors.
• Provide training on operation and maintenance of new equipment.
• Meet and drive OEE and uptime; improve RTY and FPY metrics.

His individual will plan and design automation solutions for manufacturing processes. Requires strong experience managing and coordinating manufacturing technology transfer experience, in addition, requires experience in the Lean production principles and tools; capable of analyzing the layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods and work force to maximize efficiency; and improving production design for manufacturability.

• Develop and implement improvements to existing automation in mechanical assembly, machining and inspection processes.
• Develop and implement maintenance programs for equipment.
• Manage equipment purchase and installation.
• Prepare manufacturing documentation.
• Coordinate projects.
• Work closely with internal and external customers and vendors to resolve issues and provide technical support
• Develop systems and layouts that follow lean manufacturing philosophies of one-piece flow and kanban, with emphasis on mistake proofing.
• Lead and direct meetings with other team members and hourly associates.
• Manage tooling and gauge design and drawings.
• Provide training and guidance to all employee levels in the operation and maintenance of new equipment.
• Meet and drive equipment OEE and Uptime.
• In collaboration with Process Engineering drive RTY , FPY and Scrap metric health and improvements.
• Solid understanding of computer programming and software development.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems and perform complex system tests.

• Ability to communicate well to other members of the development team.
• Availability to travel.
• Valid USA Visa and Mexican passport.
• Manufacturing Automation Engineer with 3-5 years’ experience.
• Lean manufacturing practices (Kanban, Poke-Yoke, JIT, Value Stream Mapping).
• Tool and fixture design and GD&T.
• Strong Project Management skills.
• Understanding and functional knowledge of PLC’s, low voltage controls, three phase power distribution, vision systems. Electronic sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and robotics.
• Machine specification and purchase order writing.
