Alcon is seeking a Sr. Accounting & Reporting Specialist focused on inventory with hybrid presence in Mexico City. You will drive IFRS-compliant accounting, prepare journal entries, and lead balance sheet reconciliations while coordinating with local and regional teams.

The role requires 3+ years in accounting, IFRS and SOX exposure, ERP experience (SAP/Oracle) and strong Excel. Excellent communication and stakeholder management are essential for success in a global, diverse environment.

Formación

Typical day will include

Performance Management and Service Delivery

• Ensuring accurate accounting and financial reporting within prescribed deadlines and in compliance with IFRS.


• Preparing accurate journal entries.


• Robust monthly balance sheet reconciliations.


• Collaborating with local stakeholders for timely issue resolution.


• Proactive communication with finance colleagues and regional accounting teams to address queries effectively while adhering to Alcon standards and policies.


• Meeting SLA/KPI targets.


• Addressing internal and external inquiries.

Compliance

• Maintaining comprehensive documentation of all processes, policies, and procedures while ensuring compliance with IFRS, Financial Controls Manual, and regulatory requirements.


• Applying Alcon's control procedures.


• Supporting SOX certification.


• Fostering a strong control environment.


• Addressing audit findings.


• Implementing corrective measures to uphold compliance and operational integrity.

People Management

• Actively support Financial Reporting & Accounting (FRA) Ops working style by being inclusive, proactive, respectful, and results driven in alignment with Alcon Values and Behaviors Act service oriented to enable service lines to deliver a high-performing organization and contribute to derive to improvements/standard solutions while cultivating customer service focus culture.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON

• Undergraduate degree in accounting and/or finance required.


• Masters or Advanced degree in accounting preferred.


• English proficiency - intermediate level (Conversation, reading and writing).


• Accounting Expertise: 3+ years of hands‑on experience in accounting (Mid‑Sr level) with a track record of accurate accounting and financial reporting.


• Strong knowledge of IFRS, balance sheet reviews, reconciliations, and statutory/corporate accounting.


• Experience supporting internal and external audits, with a solid grasp of internal and financial controls.


• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and advanced Excel skills, along with familiarity with Word and PowerPoint.


• Excellent communication, organizational, and planning abilities.


• Skilled in stakeholder management to ensure seamless coordination and outcomes.
