Job summary

Goodyear Mexico seeks a Senior Accounting Analyst to drive accurate financial reporting, manage reconciliations, import transactions, expenses, and the monthly close. The role partners with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies while ensuring compliance with US GAAP and local accounting standards.

You will validate import purchases in SONDA and SAP, review travel expenses in Concur, and support journal entries, accruals, and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• 2–3 years of accounting experience in a financial role.
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and local accounting standards.
• Proficiency in Excel and financial data analysis.
• Experience with SAP, SONDA or Concur is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Validate and record accounting transactions for imports in SAP and SONDA.
• Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations; analyze balance sheet accounts.
• Review employee travel expenses in Concur for policy compliance and VAT treatment.
• Support the monthly close with journal entries, accruals, provisions, and reconciliations.
• Assist internal/external audits and identify process improvements.

The Senior Accounting Analyst ensures accurate and timely financial reporting by managing key accounting activities, including reconciliations, import transactions, expenses, and monthly close. This role partners with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain compliance with internal controls, SOX, U.S. GAAP, and local accounting standards. Through strong financial analysis and controls, the position helps safeguard the integrity of financial information and supports effective business decisions.Why This Role MattersProtects the integrity and reliability of financial reporting by ensuring transactions, reconciliations, accruals, and provisions are complete, accurate, and recorded in the appropriate period.Strengthens compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, corporate accounting policies, U.S. GAAP, local GAAP, and applicable regulatory requirements.Improves operational efficiency by partnering with Logistics, Purchasing, Treasury, Accounts Payable, and other teams to resolve discrepancies and enhance accounting processes.What You Will DoValidate and accurately record accounting transactions related to import purchases in SONDA and SAP, including reviewing supporting documentation, aging reports, and provisions.Perform bank and general ledger account reconciliations, analyze balance sheet accounts, investigate unusual or aged items, and coordinate the timely resolution of discrepancies.Review employee travel expenses in Concur, verifying policy compliance, approvals, supporting documentation, expense classifications, accounting entries, and applicable VAT treatment.Support the monthly financial close by reviewing journal entries, accruals, provisions, reconciliations, and account movements, while helping prepare financial reports and variance explanations.Manage the accounting treatment and amortization of prepaid expenses, advance payments, intangible assets, and deferred charges in accordance with established accounting standards and policies.Support internal and external audits, maintain compliance with accounting and control requirements, and identify opportunities to standardize, automate, and improve accounting processes.What We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Accounting.Two to three years of experience in accounting or a similar financial role, with knowledge of U.S. GAAP and local accounting standards.Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience analyzing complex financial data; familiarity with SAP, SONDA, or Concur is beneficial.Intermediate English proficiency, strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate accounting matters effectively across functions.#LI-FG1Goodyear is one of the world's largest tire companies.
