Job summary

Goodyear in Durango, MX is seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst to drive accurate monthly close, reconciliations, and financial reporting in line with US GAAP, local GAAP, and SOX controls.

You will partner with Logistics, Purchasing, Treasury, and AP to resolve discrepancies, review import transactions in SAP and SONDA, and analyze balance sheet items.

This role supports audits and seeks opportunities to standardize and automate accounting processes while ensuring compliance and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• 2–3 years of experience in accounting or a similar financial role, with knowledge of U.S. GAAP and local accounting standards.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel; familiarity with SAP, SONDA, or Concur is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Validate and record import purchase transactions in SAP and SONDA with supporting documents.
• Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations, analyze balance sheet accounts, and investigate discrepancies.
• Review employee travel expenses in Concur for policy compliance, approvals, supporting documentation, and VAT treatment.
• Support the monthly close by reviewing journal entries, accruals, provisions, reconciliations, and account movements, and help prepare financial reports and explanations.
• Manage the accounting treatment and amortization of prepaid expenses, advance payments, intangible assets, and deferred charges.
• Support internal and external audits, maintain compliance with accounting controls, and identify opportunities to standardize and automate processes.
