Mission Plastics, Inc. seeks a procurement-focused professional to act as the main bridge between customers and internal teams. You will manage orders in ERP, coordinate with production on schedules and materials, and source reliable suppliers for resins and components.

Responsibilities include negotiating terms, assessing quotations, and driving cost-reduction initiatives to maintain quality and delivery commitments.

Formación

• Must communicate in English with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Experience with ERP/MRP workflows, purchasing, and sourcing.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management capabilities.
• Knowledge of injection molding materials and BOM reading helpful.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as the primary link between customers and internal departments for requirements and changes.
• Enter and maintain sales orders and purchase order details in ERP, issue confirmations.
• Coordinate with Production Control on status, scheduling, and delivery requirements.
• Ensure receipt of customer-supplied materials for production.
• Coordinate with Engineering/Quality/Tooling to respond to technical inquiries.
• Source and qualify vendors for resins, additives, inserts and other materials.
• Develop supplier base and assess new or second-source options to cut costs.
• Prepare RFQs, compare quotes, and advise on total landed cost.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, lead times, and volume commitments with suppliers.
• Lead cost-reduction initiatives and participate in annual price negotiations.

Descripción del empleo

• Serve as the primary communication link between customers and internal departments, ensuring customer requirements, order status, schedule changes, pricing changes, and concerns are communicated accurately and promptly.
• Obtain customer purchase orders, enter and maintain sales orders and purchase order details in the ERP system, and prepare and forward order confirmations to customers.
• Coordinate with Production Control regarding order status, scheduling updates, delivery requirements, material availability, and other issues that may impact customer commitments.
• Ensure customer-supplied materials, components, documentation, specifications, and other required items are received as needed to support production.
• When technical inquiries arise, coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Production, Tooling, Program Management, and other technical personnel to provide timely and accurate responses to customers.
• Source and qualify vendors for thermoplastic resins, engineered polymers, colorants, additives, inserts, fasteners, packaging, purchased components, and other materials required for injection molding production.
• Develop and maintain a competitive supplier base by identifying new vendors, alternate sources, and second-source options to reduce cost and supply-chain risk.
• Prepare and issue RFQs, analyze supplier quotations, compare total landed cost, and make sourcing recommendations based on price, quality, lead time, capacity, service, and technical capability.
• Negotiate material and component pricing, payment terms, freight terms, minimum order quantities, lead times, tooling or setup charges, annual agreements, stocking agreements, and other commercial conditions with suppliers.
• Lead cost-reduction initiatives and support annual price negotiations, supplier consolidation, and value-analysis opportunities while maintaining required quality and performance standards.
• Coordinate with Sales, Program Management, Purchasing, and Accounting to identify cost changes.

• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office/365 and advanced spreadsheet use.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, including sales order, purchasing, and sourcing functions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally with customers, suppliers, and internal departments.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate quotations, cost breakdowns, pricing changes, and total landed cost.
• Strong negotiation, supplier-management, customer-service, and commercial communication skills.
• Understanding of injection molding materials, purchased components, and manufacturing supply chains preferred.
• Ability to read basic drawings, specifications, bills of material, and material callouts.
• Strong attention to detail, follow-up, organization, and ability to manage multiple customer and sourcing priorities.
• Ability to coordinate across multiple departments, manage customer expectations, and communicate changes professionally.
