Job summary

Aspen Technology in Mexico City is seeking an Associate Software Quality Engineer I to join our Manufacturing and Supply Chain (MSC) Engineering organization. You will help validate industrial software supporting planning, scheduling, optimization, production and supply chain workflows.

Working with guidance from experienced engineers in a cross-functional Agile team, you will create and execute tests, report defects, contribute to automation, and build your product and quality engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Foundational understanding of software testing concepts and SDLC.
• Exposure to testing software applications through academic, internship, or projects.
• Basic programming in one of the listed languages.
• Understanding of APIs, databases, source control, debugging, and automated testing concepts.
• Ability to follow requirements and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Review user stories, acceptance criteria, designs, and product workflows.
• Create, maintain, and execute manual and automated test cases.
• Perform functional, exploratory, integration, regression, smoke, and compatibility testing.
• Document defects with reproducible steps and evidence; collaborate with developers.
• Contribute to automated test scripts, test data, and environments.
• Participate in backlog refinement and sprint ceremonies.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and engineers to deliver working software.
• Learn CI/CD and software quality practices; document test results.
• Build familiarity with MSC workflows and product areas.
