Aspen Technology in Mexico City is seeking a Software Developer I to join the Manufacturing and Supply Chain (MSC) Engineering organization.

You will contribute to industrial software that supports planning, scheduling, optimization, production, and supply chain workflows. Work in a cross-functional Agile team, implementing features, fixing defects, and building automated tests under guidance.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Around 2 to 3 years of general software development experience.
• Foundational knowledge of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Academic, internship, personal-project, or professional experience developing software in C#, .NET, C++, Java, or a comparable language.
• Basic understanding of source control, debugging, APIs, databases, and the software development lifecycle.
• Ability to interpret technical requirements, ask clarifying questions, and work effectively with guidance.
• Strong learning mindset, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate in English in a global engineering environment.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, test, debug, and maintain software features under the guidance of experienced engineers.
• Translate user stories and acceptance criteria into clear, maintainable implementations.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Agile Team Leads, developers, Quality Engineering, and Architecture to deliver working software.
• Participate in backlog refinement, iteration planning, daily coordination, reviews, retrospectives, and system demos.
• Write unit tests, support automated testing, and help investigate and resolve defects.
• Participate in code reviews, apply team standards, and incorporate feedback to improve code quality.
• Document technical decisions and contribute to shared team knowledge.
• Build familiarity with MSC customer workflows and the product areas supported by the Agile team.
