PALO IT is seeking a seasoned Software Engineer with a strong background in core Java to design, develop, and optimize backend solutions within modern microservices architectures. You will implement robust RESTful APIs, build microservices with Spring Boot or Jakarta EE, and work with relational and NoSQL databases using ORM tools like Hibernate/JPA.

You will also develop and run automated tests, contribute to secure development practices, and participate in CI/CD pipelines while collaborating

• 5+ years backend Java development experience.
• Strong RESTful API design skills.
• Experience with Spring Boot and/or Jakarta EE.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Hibernate or JPA experience.
• Experience with automated testing.
• Solid knowledge of SOLID principles and design patterns.
• Security best practices and OWASP awareness.
• CI/CD pipeline experience (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Agile and Scrum collaboration.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and maintain backend Java applications with high availability and performance.

Your Role

As a Software Engineer with a background in core Java, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing robust, scalable, and secure backend solutions within modern microservices-based architectures.

• Designing, developing, and maintaining backend applications in Java (Java 8+), ensuring high availability and performance.

• Designing and implementing robust RESTful APIs, including versioning, authentication, and documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI.

• Building microservices and endpoints using frameworks such as Spring Boot and/or Jakarta EE.

• Managing and integrating relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL technologies (MongoDB, Redis) efficiently.

• Implementing and optimizing data access using ORMs such as Hibernate or JPA.

• Developing unit tests and automated API tests using tools such as JUnit, Mockito, Testcontainers, and Postman/Newman.

• Applying SOLID principles, design patterns, and secure development best practices (e.g., OWASP, data validation, error handling).

• Contributing to the implementation and continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or others).

• Collaborating in agile teams (Scrum), actively participating in code reviews and pull request management.

• Identifying bottlenecks, performing profiling, and optimizing performance in production environments.

• Providing support in troubleshooting issues and bugs in backend systems, effectively communicating technical solutions and documenting APIs.

Who You Are

• 5+ years of experience developing backend applications in Java.

• Strong experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.

• Strong command of frameworks such as Spring Boot and/or Jakarta EE.

• Advanced experience with relational and NoSQL databases.

• Deep knowledge of ORMs such as Hibernate or JPA.

• Experience with automated testing (unit and API testing).

• Strong understanding of SOLID principles, design patterns, and application security practices.
