Software Development Engineer in Test (NodeJS and Python)

Job Description: We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join our innovative AI team responsible for testing and ensuring the reliability of a high-visibility internal AI chat application written primarily in NextJS and NodeJS. This role also involves supporting potential Python-based AI integrations by adopting and piloting AI-quality engineering software. The Quality Engineer will drive rigorous testing processes and ensure consistency and scalability of the AI application used company‑wide.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and pilot AI‑enhanced quality engineering tools for internal use.
• Design and execute testing strategies for performance, scalability, and reliability of AI‑powered applications built primarily on NextJS and NodeJS.
• Create automated test scripts for testing workflows, APIs, and database operations.
• Collaborate with AI engineers to manage testing for AI/ML components, including potential Python‑based implementations.
• Work closely with the core AI team to align QA frameworks with AI development practices.
• Provide detailed reporting on test outcomes, including debugging and recommendations for improvement.
• Support CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth testing for releases (e.g., GitHub Actions).
• Drive innovation in quality engineering by piloting advanced AI testing tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or QA roles.
• Hands‑on experience with testing for applications built on NodeJS and NextJS.
• Familiarity with Python‑based tools and frameworks (e.g., PyTest) for AI‑specific testing.
• Strong background in automation testing using tools like Selenium, Cypress, or similar frameworks.
• Proficiency with modern CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions).
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, data handling, and integration testing.
• Experience with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or similar.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience testing AI/ML models and workflows.
• Expertise in modern enterprise patterns (e.g., microservices, data‑streaming architectures).
• Knowledge of AI testing frameworks and Python‑specific AI libraries like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Background in NextJS‑specific UI testing and NodeJS middleware validation.
