OPmobility in Monterrey is seeking an experienced Optical Engineer to lead projects in automotive lighting, ensuring robust, verified products on time and within cost. You will oversee development of optical systems from customer requirements through to serial production, mentor engineers, and coordinate cross‑functional teams to deliver cutting‑edge lighting solutions.

Formación

• English advanced (C1) proficiency.
• 3–5 years in automotive lighting development for front main functions.
• Strong skills in CATIA, LightTools, rendering software, GOM Inspect, and MS Office.
• At least 2 projects completed from design phase to serial production.
• Leadership experience in optical concept development for main functions.

Responsabilidades

• Fulfill project objectives: robust, verified and reliable product on time, quality and costs.
• Propose and supervise optical systems development based on customer requirements and profitability.
• Coordinate with other departments to find best compromises and implement know-how.
• Prepare and present at customer and supplier meetings; negotiate solutions.
• Handover task results with milestones and data releases.
• Review optical systems at milestones for feasibility and robustness.
• Coordinate builds for customer presentations and verification samples.
• Support manufacturing tuning and launches; propose improvements.
• Present lessons learned and train newcomers.
• Lead the optical engineering team when required and delegate tasks.
• Adhere to company strategy for projector modules and standards.
• Maintain status on standards and regulations; perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with EHS and internal regulations.

Responsibilities

• As a team member he/she is responsible for fulfilment of project objectives: robust, verified and reliable product in required time, quality and costs.
• Proposal and supervising of the optical systems development based on customer requirements, feasibility and profitability, participates on creation of DGL. Development follows Op-mobility processes.
• Revision of optical parameters in wider group of optical engineers, active cooperation with another departments to find the best compromise, implementation of know-how learned on all other projects.
• Preparation and realization of presentations for customer and suppliers. Proactivity in negotiation, solution proposals for customers requirements.
• Timely hand over of the task results in relation with project milestones (prototype samples, data release to hard tool) and requirements from other departments.
• Revision of optical systems at important project milestones (i.e. OTDR) with relation to latest know-how, feasibility and robustness of given systems.
• Preparation and coordination of builds for presentation at customer, preparation of verification samples (incl. homologation), presentations at customer.
• Analysis of first shots quality, support during tuning of the manufacturing process, in case of need preparation of the improvements and corrections. Support of the project launch.
• Preparation and presentation of “Lessons Learned”.
• Passing the training courses needed to obtain required knowledge.
• Trains newcomers and revises status of training materials.
• Leading the team of optical engineers in case of optical development leadership, delegating tasks, setting priorities.
• Ensures the use of the company strategy for projector modules, MPP.
• Ensure the use of the latest status for standards and regulations.
• Performs other activities according to the superior's instructions which do not contradict with the position's activities.
• He/she complies with EHS, fire protection, internal regulations and applicable legislation at his/her work.

Required Education

• Bachelor or Master degree in Optics or Physics

Required Experience

• English – advanced level (C1)
• 3-5 years in automotive lighting development for front main functions
• Good skills and knowledge of CATIA, Light Tools, rendering software, GOM Inspect, MS Office.
• Complete realization of at least 2 projects (from design phase to serial production)
• At least 2 times leadership experience at optical concept development for Main Functions
