Mondrian hotel in Mexico City is seeking a Hostess to create a warm, welcoming first impression for guests. You will greet arrivals, manage seating, reservations, and waiting lists while coordinating with servers and managers to ensure smooth service.

The role requires excellent communication, a strong customer-service mindset, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility for weekends/evenings and English proficiency are preferred.

The Hostess is responsible for creating a warm, welcoming, and memorable first impression for all guests. This position greets guests upon arrival, manages seating arrangements and reservations, coordinates table availability, and supports the restaurant team in delivering an exceptional guest experience consistent with Mondrian’s service standards.

The Hostess should be friendly, confident, attentive to detail, and able to remain composed and professional in a fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Welcome and greet all guests with a warm, friendly, and professional attitude.
• Manage guest arrivals, reservations, waitlists, and seating arrangements efficiently.
• Escort guests to their tables and provide menus when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate information regarding table availability and restaurant capacity.
• Coordinate closely with servers, bartenders, managers, and other F&B team members to ensure smooth service.
• Monitor table turnover and communicate estimated waiting times clearly and accurately to guests.
• Handle guest requests, questions, and concerns with professionalism and a service-oriented approach.
• Assist in managing reservations and special requests, including VIP guests, celebrations, and special occasions.
• Maintain an organized and welcoming host stand and restaurant entrance.
• Ensure menus, reservation books, and other host materials are clean, updated, and properly organized.
• Support the restaurant team during peak periods as needed.
• Be knowledgeable about the restaurant's menu, concept, hours of operation, promotions, and hotel facilities in order to provide accurate information to guests.
• Maintain a strong awareness of guest preferences and communicate relevant information to the service team.
• Follow all hotel, restaurant, safety, hygiene, and service standards.
• Handle guest information and reservations with discretion and confidentiality.
• Contribute to a positive team environment and actively support colleagues when needed.
• Perform any other duties related to the position as assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous experience as a Hostess, Host, Guest Relations Agent, or in a similar guest-facing hospitality position is preferred.
• Previous experience in a luxury hotel, upscale restaurant, or lifestyle hospitality environment is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer-service orientation and a genuine passion for hospitality.

• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
