IFF in Mexico's Tlalnepantla seeks a sensory scientist to manage sample preparation and interpretation for sensory and analytical evaluations on-site. You will support quality assessments using GC-MS and conduct sensory testing to inform product decisions.

The role requires collaboration with Quality, Product Development, and Manufacturing teams, adherence to GLP/GMP and food safety, and growth opportunities within a global leader in taste and flavor innovations.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Engineering, Food Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a sensory laboratory or related analytical environment.
  • Knowledge of sensory discriminative testing methodologies.
  • Experience with flavors, raw materials, and sensory evaluation processes.
  • Familiarity with GLP, GMP, food safety and safety principles.
  • Experience with laboratory equipment and analytical tools, including GC-MS.
  • Knowledge of HACCP principles and allergen management processes.
  • MS Office proficiency and SAP experience.

Responsabilidades

  • Manage, prepare, acquire, and interpret raw material and product samples for sensory and analytical evaluations.
  • Support sensory and quality assessments using GC-MS and other analytical techniques.
  • Conduct sensory discriminative testing following established methodologies.
  • Interpret analytical results to support quality and product decisions.
  • Generate and maintain reports related to sample analysis and sensory evaluations.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Product Development, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Maintain GLP and GMP compliance and food safety standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of sensory evaluation and lab processes.

Where You’ll Make a Difference
  • Manage, prepare, acquire, and interpret raw material and product samples for sensory and analytical evaluations
  • Support sensory and quality assessments utilizing analytical techniques such as Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS)
  • Conduct sensory discriminative testing in accordance with established methodologies and procedures
  • Interpret analytical and sensory results to support quality and product evaluation decisions
  • Generate, maintain, and communicate reports related to sample analysis and sensory evaluations
  • Participate in regression testing and acceptance testing activities to validate product consistency and quality
  • Collaborate with Quality, Product Development, and Manufacturing teams to support product evaluation processes
  • Maintain compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, and safety requirements
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to sensory evaluation, analytical testing, and laboratory processes
What Makes You the Right Fit
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Engineering, Food Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a sensory laboratory, quality laboratory, or related analytical environment
  • Knowledge of sensory discriminative testing methodologies
  • Experience working with flavors, raw materials, and sensory evaluation processes
  • Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, and safety principles
  • Experience working with laboratory equipment and analytical tools, including GC-MS
  • Knowledge of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) principles and allergen management processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and business systems such as SAP
