Qualifications

• HS Diploma / GED or equivalent
• 5-7 years welding experience
• Welder certificate or equivalent
• Experience in manufacturing or valve industry is preferred
• Post weld heat treatment knowledge is a plus

Responsibilities

• Select welding method per job (TIG, MIG, MAG or stick)
• Plan and lay out work from blueprints and specs
• Operate a conventional lathe for preparation of welded parts
• Maintain a safe workplace with protective equipment
• Meet production goals and timelines; manage scrap
• Troubleshoot process and equipment problems
• Collaborate with machinists and assemblers to solve repairs
• Record accurate data on systems or logs
• Welding repairs and installations based on drawings
• Quality checks and verify workmanship against specs
