Job summary

CommScope is seeking a Staff Tooling Engineer to design, develop, and maintain injection molds and related tooling for manufacturing. The role emphasizes technical rigor, collaboration, and continuous improvement to enhance mold performance across global sites.

The position requires deep experience with plastic injection molds, mold validation, and coordinating with project managers and suppliers. Travel up to ~15% may be required to support worldwide manufacturing locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in tooling/engineered molds.
• Proven expertise in plastic injection molds and mold validations.
• Experience with metal selection, mold design reviews, and supplier coordination.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Define technical requirements and design characteristics for plastic injection molds.
• Coordinate mold design for new product introduction and mold replacement.
• Select suppliers for mold manufacture based on project needs.
• Lead design reviews to ensure compliance with technical specs.
• Define validation methods and supervise mold inspections and maintenance.
