AMETEK Inc. in Reynosa, MX, seeks a Lead Supplier Quality Engineer to steer supplier quality strategy, audits, and continuous improvement.

You will act as the technical liaison between suppliers and internal teams, driving containment, FAI/PPAP, and early defect prevention across material and process chains. You will meet ISO 9001/AS9100 standards, lead 8D problem solving, and guide supplier development while communicating in both English and Spanish.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or supplier development.
• Strong knowledge of Core Tools: APQP, PPAP, Control Plan, PFMEA, MSA, and SPC.
• Experience with FAI, supplier qualification and auditing, corrective actions, and MRB management.
• Ability to interpret drawings, GD&T, and acceptance criteria.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 or similar standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, data analysis, KPI dashboards, and ERP/MRP systems.
• Ability to communicate in English and Spanish effectively.

Responsabilidades

• Lead supplier quality strategy, priorities, and plans aligned to QMS objectives.
• Establish incoming material quality criteria, inspection plans, and acceptance criteria.
• Lead supplier selection, evaluation, qualification, approval, and re-evaluation.
• Plan and conduct supplier audits; document findings and close actions.
• Manage FAI, APQP, PPAP, and approval docs for new products and changes.
• Lead containment and root cause analysis using 8D and structured methods.
• Issue and track SCAR/SQR; escalate critical risks or delays.
• Coordinate nonconforming material disposition and MRB activities.
• Monitor supplier performance with KPIs including PPM and rejections.
• Develop improvement plans for underperforming suppliers and verify results.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve supply/quality risks.
• Maintain complete supplier quality records and certifications.
• Promote QMS discipline across the supply chain and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor supplier quality personnel.
• Assist in decision making to prevent release of nonconforming material.
• Participate in audits, performance reviews, and supplier improvement projects.
