GE Vernova, Inc. is seeking a Lead Protection & Control Engineer to oversee HV/EHV substation protection and control design, with strong focus on safety, quality and cost control.

You will coordinate a local or remote team, interface with customers, vendors and field personnel, and ensure high-quality protection schemes for diverse substations. You will apply IEC61850 knowledge, perform design calculations, and develop FAT/SAT plans while driving continuous improvement and learning in a dynamic

Formación

• 5+ years in protection schemes for substations (AIS/GIS).
• P.E. License or EIT with willingness to pursue licensure.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Willingness to travel up to 20%, including international.
• Experience with protection relays and coordination software.

Responsabilidades

• Lead a design team to develop P&C designs (S/L diagrams, panels, schematics).
• Evaluate interoperability and communication/protocol aspects of relays.
• Familiar with IEC61850 process bus architecture and implementation.
• Produce P&C drawings and perform design calculations for sizing.
• Coordinate with layout, relay-setting engineers and site personnel.
• Interface with vendors, review P&C documentation and quotes.
• Prepare P&C estimates for proposals and projects.
• Support FAT, SAT, outages and cutover plans; assist field testing.
• Contribute to design standard improvements and process optimization.
