Luxoft is seeking a Storage Systems Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize large‑scale Linux‑based storage platforms for a US hedge fund. You will ensure reliability, scale diverse storage environments, and automate workflows to support production systems.

The role requires 7+ years in storage/ Linux infrastructure, strong scripting (Python, Bash), and experience with GPFS/IBM Storage Scale, ESS, VAST, Pure, or NetApp. Global collaboration is key and HPC/high availability experience is valued.

Formación

• 7+ years of professional experience in storage engineering, storage operations, or Linux infrastructure with heavy storage responsibilities.
• Solid working knowledge across file, block, and object storage technologies.
• Strong Linux systems administration and live production support skills.
• Deep understanding of storage client behavior (NFS mounts, automount, multipath, filesystem tuning).
• Familiarity with networking fundamentals as they relate to storage (DNS, throughput, latency troubleshooting).
• Proven scripting and automation experience with Python, Bash, Ansible, Salt, or Terraform.
• Strong communication, composure under pressure, and meticulous risk/change control discipline.
• Deep experience with enterprise platforms like GPFS / IBM Storage Scale, ESS, VAST, Pure, or NetApp.
• Experience with SAN/NAS fabrics, RDMA or InfiniBand, and high‑throughput data paths.
• Background supporting research, trading, High‑Performance Computing (HPC), or other high‑availability environments.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure Platform Reliability: Maintain reliability, performance, and availability of enterprise storage and filesystem services.

• Troubleshoot & Optimize: Diagnose storage, filesystem, multipath, and client‑side production issues.
• Automate & Scale: Develop scripts and automation tools using Python, Bash, Ansible, Terraform.
• Manage Lifecycles: Oversee quotas, snapshots, replication, tiering, data lifecycle policies, and disaster recovery.
• Collaborate Globally: Partner with infra, datacenter, vendor, and business teams across global environments.

What You’ll Do

• Ensure Platform Reliability: Maintain the rock‑solid reliability, performance, and availability of enterprise storage and filesystem services.
• Operate Cutting‑Edge Tech: Manage diverse storage platforms including GPFS / IBM Storage Scale, NFS, Pure, VAST, NetApp, NAS, block, and object storage systems.
• Troubleshoot & Optimize: Diagnose complex storage, filesystem, multipath, and client‑side production issues (latency, contention, capacity events).
• Automate & Scale: Develop scripts and automation tools using Python, Bash, or similar technologies to eliminate repetitive operational work.
• Manage Lifecycles: Oversee quotas, snapshots, replication, tiering, data lifecycle policies, and disaster recovery processes.
• Collaborate Globally: Partner closely with infrastructure, datacenter, vendor, and business teams across global environments.
