Job summary

Delinea is seeking an experienced software engineer to join the JIT Proxy team, building secure just-in-time access to customer resources across cloud and on-prem environments.

You will design and implement high-concurrency services, extend proxies for multiple protocols, and deploy on Kubernetes/Azure. Strong collaboration and mentoring skills are valued as you tackle security and performance challenges.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in backend or distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of networking and secure, scalable APIs.
• Experience with cloud-native tech and Kubernetes ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain highly concurrent services for just-in-time access.
• Extend proxy capabilities across SSH, RDP, Kubernetes, databases, and more.
• Develop distributed systems to enforce tenant policy and identity data.

Job Summary

This position is on the JIT Proxy team, which builds secure, just-in-time access to the resources customers depend on, including databases, servers, Kubernetes clusters, and other infrastructure. Instead of relying on standing access and long-lived credentials, users get access only when they need it, and only for as long as policy allows.

What You'll Do:

• - Design, build, test, and maintain highly concurrent services that power secure, just-in-time access to customer resources.
• - Build and extend proxy capabilities across a growing range of protocols and resource types, including SSH, RDP, Kubernetes, databases, and more.
• - Develop distributed systems that securely deliver and enforce tenant policy, identity, and resource data across cloud services and proxies running in customer environments.
• - Build, deploy, and operate cloud services on Kubernetes and Azure, along with proxy software deployed into customer environments.
• - Write clean, well-tested software with a strong focus on secure networking, reliability, performance, observability, and maintainability.
• - Work with architects, product managers, and partner platform teams to define technical approaches and deliver features from design through production.
• - Diagnose complex connectivity, protocol, security, and performance issues across cloud services and customer environments.
• - Mentor other engineers, contribute to code and design reviews, and help continuously improve our engineering practices.

What You'll Need:

• - Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• - 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building backend, distributed, networking, or systems-level software.
• - Strong experience with concurrent programming, networking, and network protocols.
• - Strong understanding of distributed systems, including reliability, failure handling, APIs, and service-to-service communication.
• - Experience building secure software, including authentication, encryption, credential handling, or other security considerations for networked systems.
• - Experience with Azure, AWS, or another major cloud provider and cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes.
• - Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to navigate complex technical problems and collaborate effectively across teams.
• - A track record of mentoring other engineers and an eagerness to learn new technologies, protocols, and problem domains.

We’d Love to See:

• - Experience developing production software in Go (Golang), particularly concurrent or networked services.
• - Experience building proxies, gateways, or other networked systems, including implementing or debugging protocols such as SSH, RDP, Kubernetes, or database protocols.
• - Experience with security and identity technologies, including authentication, secrets management, credential brokering, or policy-as-code and authorization engines such as Cedar.
• - Experience with observability and event-driven systems using technologies such as OpenTelemetry and message brokers.
• - Experience shipping software into customer environments, including handling version skew, upgrades, and operational troubleshooting.
• - Experience with cloud infrastructure and development tooling such as Terraform, Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD systems, and container-based integration testing.
• - Understanding of Zero Trust architectures, just-in-time and least-privilege access, FIPS compliance, and secure software development practices.
