Job summary

Ford is seeking a Seats CAE Engineer to join our CAE team to perform structural load case analyses on automotive seats across North America vehicle programs. Use FE tools to evaluate seat structures under static, dynamic, durability, and regulatory loads to ensure strength, stiffness, and modal performance for all seat variants.

You will build and correlate FE models, identify weaknesses, and collaborate with Seat Design and Release, Integration, Program, and Test Engineering teams to recommend

Qualifications

Experience performing advanced nonlinear structural analyses using the finite element method (FEM).
Proficiency with core CAE solvers LS-DYNA, ABAQUS and NASTRAN.
Hands-on with preprocessing tools such as ANSA and Hypermesh; postprocessing with Hyperview.

Responsibilities

Conduct CAE analyses of automotive seats to validate strength, stiffness and safety.
Interface with Design, Release and CAE teams to drive design improvements and weight/cost targets.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (FMVSS, ECE) and internal Ford requirements.
Document CAE results clearly for reviews and sign-off milestones.
Meet GPDS program milestones with timely deliverables.
