nVent is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Monterrey to lead end‑to‑end product development from feasibility through commercialization. You will drive manufacturability and pilot builds, develop precise specifications, and ensure alignment with quality standards while coordinating with cross‑functional teams to achieve on‑time launches.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 5 years of experience, advanced English, and travel up to 30%.

  • 5 years of related experience.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks assemblies, modeling, drawings, and PDM/PLM systems.
  • Strong understanding of metals, polymers, and composite materials, with hands‑on experience in stamping, machining, and injection molding.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead end‑to‑end mechanical product development, including feasibility studies, prototype builds, validation testing, agency certification, and commercialization.
  • Drive design‑for‑manufacturability and pilot‑build activities for scalable, cost‑effective, production‑ready designs.
  • Develop complete material, component, and product specifications and support QA procedures.
  • Plan and manage engineering tasks, translate product targets into technical requirements, and maintain a prioritized engineering backlog for NPI timelines.
  • Validate designs through testing, prototyping, performance evaluations and third‑party coordination.
  • Collaborate with operations, quality, sourcing, product management and sales to support launch readiness.
  • Maintain governance in the gated NPI process and ensure on‑time progression through development phases.
  • Provide technical leadership in design reviews, FMEAs, and risk mitigation; engage with end‑users to gather feedback for future direction.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
  • Lead end to end execution of mechanical product development, including feasibility studies, prototype builds, customer informed iterations, validation testing, agency certification, and commercialization
  • Drive design‑for‑manufacturability and pilot‑build activities to ensure scalable, cost‑effective, and production‑ready mechanical designs.
  • Develop complete and accurate material, component, and product specifications, ensuring alignment with quality standards and supporting the creation of robust quality assurance procedures.
  • Plan, complete, and refine engineering tasks by translating product targets into technical requirements, defining clear achievements, and maintaining a prioritized engineering backlog that supports NPI timelines.
  • Validate mechanical designs through rigorous testing, iterative prototyping, performance evaluations and coordination of third‑party compliance.
  • Partner with multi‑functional teams including operations, quality, sourcing, product management and sales to support launch readiness
  • Maintain full accountability for engineering work within the gated NPI process, ensuring readiness for each phase and driving on time progression through the development cycle.
  • Provide technical leadership in design reviews, FMEAs, and structured risk mitigation efforts, ensuring robust engineering decisions and early identification of technical risk
  • Act as a technical voice in the field—engaging directly with end‑users to understand installation, performance, and usability issues, and returning well‑defined, feasibility‑grounded project ideas that strengthen the NPI funnel and guide future product direction
YOU HAVE:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5 Years of related experience
  • Advanced English
  • Availability to travel up to 20-30% of time
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Proficient in SolidWorks assemblies, modeling, drawings, and PDM/PLM systems
  • Strong understanding of metals, polymers, and composite materials, with hands‑on experience in stamping, machining, and injection molding.
