The role requires 8+ years in metal mechanical product development, expert SolidWorks, GD&T proficiency, and strong analytical skills (FEA). Willingness to travel to the US and relocation to Tijuana are noted.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in product development in metal mechanical companies (lead/senior role).
• Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks.
• DFM/DFA expertise for high-volume manufacturing.
• Strong analytical skills including FEA.
• In-depth knowledge of plastics, metals, and composites.
• Prototyping and testing experience.
• Good understanding of GD&T.
• Willing to travel in the US; visa required; Global Entry preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the design and engineering of liftgates and sub-systems.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior mechanical engineers.
• Develop detailed 3D CAD models (SolidWorks) and 2D drawings with GD&T.
• Oversee prototyping to validate concepts and refine designs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing partners to optimize for mass production.
• Participate in DFM/DFA reviews to resolve manufacturing challenges early.
• Support production ramp-up and drive continuous improvement.
• Work with supply chain to identify and qualify new suppliers and components.
• Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
