GE Vernova, Inc. is seeking a Lead Power System Engineer to support project execution, sales and business development by providing expert design of electrification solutions for EHV/HV substations.

You will perform all power system studies using PSCAD, PSS/E, ETAP and DigSilent PowerFactory, coordinate with GSI GEC and global teams, and travel as needed. The role requires 5+ years of experience and a strong understanding of power system components, standards, and renewables integration.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering including power systems and power electronics subjects with proven professional experience in power system engineering.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience executing power system studies.
• Good understanding of power system components and renewable energy integration.
• Strong knowledge of MV & HV substation North American standards & guidelines.

Responsabilidades

• Independently perform in depth system studies listed below; and/or specify scope, review, comment, and direct/oversee 3rd party provider(s) for the studies below.
• Load Flow, Reactive Power Capability and Compensation, Power Factor Study
• Short Circuit Study
• Combined Short Circuit Ratio (CSCR) Study
• Transient Switching and Insulation Coordination Study (including Transient Overvoltage and Recovery Voltage Analysis)
• Main Circuit Parameters
• Harmonic Performance/Stability Study
• Transient Ride Through and Dynamic Performance Studies (DPS) and other Design Studies using the Offline Simulation Tools
• Overall System Performance Assessment Study
• Low Voltage Ride Through (LVRT) and High Voltage Ride Through (HVRT) Study
• Arc Flash Study
• Cable Selection and Sizing
• Integration of dedicated studies for systems utilizing combined AC power sources; AC power sources include conventional generations, AC-BESS, turbines, and renewables.
• Expertise in frequency and time-domain simulation tools, like PSCAD, PSS/E, ETAP, DigSilent PowerFactory, to perform system studies as detailed above or under desired characteristics section.
