Job summary

The Cervantes Group is seeking a Sr. Network/Security Engineer to plan and implement enterprise networks and security architectures. You will assess performance gaps, establish firewall and IDS/IPS controls, and document network designs for complex environments.

The role requires testing and tuning security devices, programming routers and switches, and supporting international projects with English/Spanish communication. Collaboration with multiple teams is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years of Security Engineering experience.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
• Experience configuring Palo Alto and CheckPoint firewalls, Cisco ISE, and security devices.
• Solid knowledge of routing protocols, network hardware/software, and security tech.
• VPN and firewall security management experience.
• Security automation and GRC knowledge.
• CheckPoint and/or Palo Alto firewall certifications desired.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement enterprise networks and security controls including firewalls and IDS/IPS.
• Manage network services from planning through implementation.
• Prepare technical procedures, standards, and schematics for firewall migrations (CheckPoint to Palo Alto).
• Plan and implement enterprise networks with security parameters.
• Support evaluation of technical requirements for projects affecting infrastructure.
• Escalate incidents with internal/external resources when needed.
• Prepare coverage reports for management and identify threats/intrusions.
• Identify security violations and conduct periodic audits.
• Evaluate applications to discover vulnerabilities and prioritize remediation.
• Adhere to Change Management and security policies for all projects.
