Mainspring Energy is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer focused on mechanical design to lead product enhancements across field and production systems. You will redesign for durability, perform root-cause analyses, and support manufacturing to ensure reliable, serviceable designs.

You will work with design engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to implement robust solutions, and travel quarterly to HQ for alignment and reviews.

Formación

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a similar technical field.
• Senior Level: BS + 6 years, or MS + 5 years in industry roles with focus on mechanical design.
• Hands-on mechanical design experience including bolted joints, stress analysis, and structural integrity.
• Proven data-driven root cause analysis to solve cross-functional design issues.
• Experience addressing field and production issues.
• Knowledge of DFM/DFA principles and quality tools (PFMEA, 8D, CAPA).
• Deep understanding of tolerance stack-ups and use of CMMs in inspections.
• Experience with manufacturing processes (tube swaging, crimping, potting, stamping, sheet metal, hydroforming, welding, machining, fabrication).
• Proficient in SolidWorks or similar CAD; PDM experience preferred.
• Experience with structural FEA is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Lead root cause analysis of mechanical failures using diagnostics and testing.
• Redesign components, fasteners, or assemblies to reduce failures and costs.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to validate changes.
• Work with NPI, manufacturing quality, and supply chain to optimize for production.
• Predict and prevent failure modes via tolerance analysis and real-world conditions.
• Embed learnings into design standards and engineering processes.
• Develop internal improvement systems for manufacturing and future designs.
• Support tooling, fixtures, and diagnostics for deployment and service.
