Eaton Corporation is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Nuevo León, Mexico. The role involves coordinating manufacturing engineering activities to support production improvements and manage capital projects.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, at least five years of relevant experience, and hands-on skills with stamping presses and automation processes. Strong verbal and written communication abilities in English are mandatory.

Formación

  • Minimum of five years of experience in Manufacturing and/or Engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with stamping presses (100–1,000 tons).
  • Experience in metal-mechanical manufacturing of residential electrical components.

Descripción del empleo

What you’ll do:

Coordinate and manage manufacturing engineering activities in production areas to support new production lines, product transfers, and existing production lines; develop equipment specifications and maintenance plans; drive lean manufacturing, EQS deployment, MESH initiatives, and product and quality cost improvements.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to determining robust manufacturing processes, methods, and machine or line loading to produce parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies for new products or customer orders requiring extensive planning consistent with overall division objectives; plan all tooling such as jigs, fixtures, special tools, and similar items.
  • Provide manufacturing decision‑making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Evaluate existing machinery, fabrication equipment, tooling, etc. for safety, capacity, capability, and effectiveness.
  • Develop detailed technical specifications for new equipment and manage capital projects.
  • Outline required workflow and material handling devices, including storage areas, work areas, and workplace layout.
  • Prepare complete operation line‑ups to manufacture all parts for a product line or for a section.
  • Provide training, guidance and technical support to leaders, operators, and team members.
  • Cooperate with partners and Manager to follow up the ProLaunch process for all new product introduction activities, ensuring all phase‑gate expectations are fully achieved.
  • Support Lean, Six Sigma, and ProLaunch through the creation of Process Maps, Standard Work, Takt Times, Potential Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Design of Experiments, Control Plans, and Job Safety Analysis for production lines.
  • Estimate the time required to manufacture all parts for a product line or a section based on the most economical methods developed through manufacturing planning in conjunction with methods, tools, work, plant layouts, and design engineering; actively reduce current standard times.
  • Compile complete cost analyses for a product line or section based on extension of hourly rates, burden and material costs, cost of new machine tools and the handling of equipment.
  • Follow all cost‑reducing methods through installation and successful operation.
  • Recommend replacements and dispositions of equipment and facilities for a given area and maintain applicable records.
  • Plan and control expenditures of the annual facility programs encompassed in the respective area of responsibility and maintain applicable records; prepare reports on new methods.
  • Take necessary measures to improve the quality of product and information in the respective area of responsibility; lead corrective/preventive actions on his areas of responsibility.
  • Maintain safety responsibilities, including safety and housekeeping objectives; follow all safety rules, procedures, and report unsafe conditions to line management.
  • Support the EQS initiative by revising and complying with policies, focusing on follow‑up of FMEA and Control plans.
  • Contribute to the accreditation of the plant under the ISO9001 standards.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Electromechanical, Mechatronic, or similar) from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in Manufacturing and/or Engineering.
  • Hands‑on experience with stamping presses (100–1,000tons).
  • Strong knowledge of tandem and progressive die tooling and related manufacturing processes.
  • Hands‑on experience with automation processes such as bending and riveting.
  • Experience with palletizing robotic systems.
  • Proven experience in new product introduction (NPI) and manufacturing equipment installation.
  • Strong engineering support background, including process standardization and development of work instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify engineering waste and implement improvements to enhance production efficiency, safety, and ergonomics.
  • Experience in metal‑mechanical manufacturing of residential electrical components, such as load centers and meter sockets.
  • Fluent in English.
