What you’ll do:

The Sr. Industrial Engineer is responsible for leading the design, optimization, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to achieve operational excellence in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. This role drives Lean transformation through the application of industrial engineering principles, data analysis, and continuous improvement tools to eliminate waste, improve flow, and increase productivity. The position partners closely with cross‑functional teams to support production, ensure successful product launches, and sustain process standardization and performance improvements across operations.

Essential Functions:
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma tools (e.g., VSM, root cause analysis, standard work) to achieve measurable gains in productivity, quality, and cost reduction.
  • Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes and workflows to ensure safe, efficient, and scalable operations that meet customer demand and specifications.
  • Lead and implement engineering changes and deviations to ensure timely, accurate execution with minimal disruption to production.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by developing, validating, and implementing processes and documentation to ensure successful launches that meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation (work instructions, visual aids, process flows) to standardize operations, reduce variability, and improve operator performance.
  • Lead PFMEA development and risk‑mitigation activities to proactively identify, reduce, and control potential process risks and defects.
  • Implement error‑proofing (poka‑yoke) solutions to prevent defects and improve first‑pass yield.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve quality issues and execute corrective actions (8D) to eliminate root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Design, procure, and manage tooling, fixtures, and equipment, including capital projects, to deliver reliable, cost‑effective manufacturing solutions on time and within budget.
  • Ensure accuracy and alignment of SAP data (BOMs and routings) with manufacturing processes to enable effective planning, scheduling, and execution.
  • Improve manufacturing layouts and ergonomics while supporting safety assessments (JSA, WSRA) to enhance safety, reduce operator fatigue, and increase efficiency.
  • Train and support manufacturing personnel on processes, standards, and engineering changes to ensure consistent execution and a capable, high‑performing workforce.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related fields considered with strong Industrial Engineering experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing environments, with a strong focus on process improvement and Lean implementation.
  • Proven experience leading continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives with measurable results.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools (VSM, SMED, 5S, Kaizen, Standard Work, Poka‑Yoke).
  • Experience with data analysis, time studies, line balancing, and capacity planning.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing systems, tooling, and automation processes.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred) for routings and BOMs.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Proven experience leading cost savings projects.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification.
  • Experience in high‑mix or regulated industries (aerospace, automotive, medical).
  • Exposure to PLC‑controlled equipment or automation integration.
  • Experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for layout or fixture concepts.

  • Carry out continuous improvement activities in my area of responsibility through the deployment and use of Eaton Business System policies and processes such as ELSS, CIF, PRO‑Launch, EQS and other applicable.
  • Active participation in the ideas program.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and work with the Operational Excellence department to execute savings projects.
  • Attend assigned training courses.
Mesh Responsibility
  • Perform activities according to the elements of MESH principles, and methodologies to prevent accidents.
  • Active participation in BBS.
  • Report any activity that may jeopardize my safety and the environment of my colleagues.
  • Appropriate use of PPE.
