Job summary

Qualcomm in Mexico is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Engineer to optimize health, performance, and scalability of large-scale compute environments powering EDA workloads. You will manage on‑prem and cloud bursting, balancing cost and performance while evolving hybrid cloud strategies for HPC workloads.

The role requires 5+ years of Linux administration, strong cloud experience across AWS/Azure/GCP, and automation expertise, with HPC schedulers experience essential for high throughput workloads.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of direct Linux system administration experience.
• Experience deploying Linux-based workloads in at least one major public cloud provider.
• Familiarity with HPC schedulers (Slurm, PBS, or LSF).
• Experience with on‑premises to cloud bursting and cost governance.
• Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

• Administer enterprise Linux distributions (RHEL, Rocky, Ubuntu, SLES).
• Unify infrastructure across on‑prem and cloud environments using configuration management.
• Develop automation to capture workflows for cloud-scale issues.
• Architect and maintain cloud bursting for HPC workloads.
• Optimize instance selection for EDA tool workloads and networking.
• Implement cost-governance for cloud compute.
• Monitor workloads with observability tools and identify bottlenecks.
• Support HPC schedulers to ensure high throughput and fair resources.
