Caterpillar is seeking a Manufacturing/Engineering liaison in Santa Catarina, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. The role connects design engineering with manufacturing, ensuring smooth product transitions from design to production while improving quality, cost, and delivery.
You will work with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams, provide dispositions for non-conforming products, lead continuous improvement, and support NPI handovers to readiness.

Serves as the technical bridge between engineering, manufacturing, quality, procurement (suppliers) and operational teams. Their primary responsibility is to ensure the successful transition of products from design to production while optimizing quality, cost, delivery, and manufacturability. This role is also responsible for providing timely engineering dispositions for non-conforming products, resolving production issues, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with applicable engineering, quality, and regulatory requirements. Also works in projects with Engineering teams to implement mistake-proofing implementations and refining the handover process for new product introductions (NPI) to ensure production line readiness.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
Advanced English level is required Expert in manufacturing processes.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Proficiency in Design for manufacturing with the Engineering teams to ensure manufacturing feasibility of the products and parts. Review and support on disposition of non-conforming products, components, and assemblies. Coordinate, analyze and resolve engineering issues affecting manufacturing, assembly, or operations with Design Engineering. Evaluate proactively design engineering changes and their impact on production or service operations. Investigating nonconformance products or deviations.
Support root cause investigations and corrective action implementation. Contribute to process optimization and cost reduction initiatives. Identify recurring issues and recommend preventive solutions. Identify engineering opportunities to improve safety, quality, manufacturability and implement permanent solutions. Work on projects to eliminate non-value added to Support Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives when applicable.

Strong engineering fundamentals (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering). Leadership Intermediate skills in Creo software. Problem Solving and Critical Thinking. Excellent verbal and written communication. Influencing and Negotiation. Emotional Intelligence. Time Management and Prioritization. Conflict Resolution. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and product development GD&T knowledge (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Engineering problem-solving and root cause analysis. Knowledge of manufacturing processes. Ability to read technical drawings, CAD models and Engineering Standards. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Familiarity with quality systems and regulatory requirements.
