Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to act as a technical bridge between engineering, manufacturing, quality, procurement, and suppliers. The role centers on transitioning products from design to production while improving quality, cost, and manufacturability.

The position involves resolving production issues, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with engineering and regulatory requirements in a fast-paced, on-site environment.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline is required.
  • Strong foundation in manufacturing processes and product development.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and reading technical drawings/cad models.
  • Experience with evaluating non-conforming products and implementing CAPAs.

Responsabilidades

  • Provide technical support to manufacturing operations and resolve production issues.
  • Disclose disposition for non-conforming products and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, quality, procurement and suppliers for smooth product transitions to production.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve quality and productivity.
  • Review engineering changes and ensure manufacturability and compliance with standards.

Job Summary:

Serves as the technical bridge between engineering, manufacturing, quality, procurement (suppliers) and operational teams. Their primary responsibility is to ensure the successful transition of products from design to production while optimizing quality, cost, delivery, and manufacturability. This role is also responsible for providing timely engineering dispositions for non‑conforming products, resolving production issues, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with applicable engineering, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing operations by evaluating and resolving product, process, and production‑related issues to minimize disruptions and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Review, analyze, and disposition non‑conforming products and materials, ensuring timely resolution while maintaining compliance with engineering, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with design engineering, manufacturing, quality, procurement, and supplier teams to facilitate the successful introduction and transition of new products into production.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to address manufacturing defects, quality concerns, and process inefficiencies.
  • Evaluate engineering changes, product designs, technical drawings, CAD models, and specifications to ensure manufacturability and compliance with established standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, cost reduction, waste elimination, and process optimization.
  • Support suppliers and internal stakeholders in resolving technical issues related to components, assemblies, manufacturing processes, and product performance.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, engineering records, process instructions, and technical reports to support production requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable engineering standards, GD&T requirements, quality management systems, and regulatory compliance expectations.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to identify risks, prioritize technical issues, and implement effective solutions that support business objectives and customer requirements.
  • Analyze manufacturing and quality performance data to identify trends, recommend improvements, and support informed decision‑making.
  • Provide technical guidance and influence stakeholders across functions to achieve alignment, resolve conflicts, and drive timely project execution.
Education requirements

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline. Intermediate-Advanced English level is required.

Additional information:

Location: Santa Catarina, Nuevo Leon (On‑Site 100%)

Schedule: Monday to Friday 6:24am - 5pm, (subject to changes; availability for shift changes, weekend coverage: one weekend per month based on staff rotation).

<15% of working time will be domestic & international travel.

Domestic relocation assistance is not available for this position.
