Swiss Re is seeking a Senior Application Engineer in Mexico City to modernize large Java codebases, build new services, and guide teams. You will work across legacy and microservices, with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis data stores, using RabbitMQ or Azure Service Bus for messaging.

A hybrid office model is expected three days per week, with a focus on delivering scalable, high-quality software. The role requires 10+ years of Java/Spring Boot experience, proficiency with modern Java versions,

Formación

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a comparable technical field
• 10+ years hands-on Java/Spring Boot development experience
• Proficiency in Java 17/21/25 with knowledge of new features
• Experience with microservices, REST APIs, and service design
• Knowledge of messaging systems (RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, or Kafka)
• DB technologies: PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Cosmos DB
• Experience with Hibernate
• CI/CD in Azure DevOps/Jenkins/Bamboo; scripting on Linux/Windows
• Leadership to guide technical product development teams

Responsabilidades

• Modernize and maintain large Java codebases and transform them to meet evolving needs
• Develop new services and applications to expand our landscape
• Review code and mentor developers through challenges
• Stay current with Java/Spring Boot developments and adopt latest tech
• Design DB solutions using PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis
• Architect loosely coupled systems using domain events and messaging
• Collaborate with analysts, developers, and testers to deliver quality software
• Provide technical leadership and remove obstacles for teams
