Job summary

Caterpillar Torreón, Planta 2 seeks an SAP analyst to support CBS/SAP, production planning, manufacturing execution, and materials management in a Mexican setting.

You will analyze processes, provide end-user SAP support, develop training materials, and partner with CBS and Caterpillar IT teams on deployments and improvements.

This in-office role requires English fluency, a bachelor’s degree in IT or related field, and a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and improve SAP-related processes, system usage, and administrative operations to enhance user experience and efficiency.
• Provide daily SAP support to end users and production teams, ensuring effective process execution and timely issue resolution.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers through effective communication, training, and business support.
• Support SAP user training and knowledge assessments to ensure workforce readiness and system proficiency.
• Develop SAP training materials, roles, and job profiles for local-language users.
• Identify SAP improvement opportunities with management and coordinate problem resolution and continuous improvement actions.
• Coordinate with Mexico GPS support teams to track and resolve ITSM tickets.
• Partner with CBS and Caterpillar IT teams on SAP implementations, processes, testing, and feedback.
• Serve as the SAP SME for CBS implementations and new business functions in Mexico.

Role Definition:

Caterpillar IT is seeking an analyst to support CBS/SAP business users and production operations in Torreon, Mexico. In this role, you will help teams with systems efficiency, issue resolution, process improvements across production planning, manufacturing execution, and materials management teams. We have a focus on developing the next generation of IT professionals where you will gain a foundational knowledge of the manufacturing industry, as well as, key technology trends.

What you will do:

• Analyze and improve SAP-related processes, system usage, and administrative operations to enhance user experience and efficiency
• Provide daily SAP support to end users and production teams, ensuring effective process execution and timely issue resolution.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers through effective communication, training, and business support.
• Support SAP user training and knowledge assessments to ensure workforce readiness and system proficiency.
• Develop SAP training materials, roles, and job profiles for local-language users.
• Partner with management teams to identify SAP improvement opportunities, coordinate problem resolution, provide compliance feedback, and support continuous improvement actions.
• Coordinate with Mexico GPS support teams to track and resolve ITSM tickets.
• Partner with CBS and Caterpillar IT teams on SAP implementations, process improvements, testing, and feedback activities.
• Serve as the SAP SME for CBS implementations and new business functions in Mexico, supporting configuration alignment, user adoption, and process rollouts.

What you have:

• Core Application Systems: Knowledge of production application systems supporting manufacturing and business operations; ability to leverage CBS/SAP applications to support production planning, manufacturing execution, materials management, and sales and distribution processes.
• Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for recognizing, investigating, and resolving operational or process problems; ability to troubleshoot CBS/SAP issues, assess business impact, and coordinate resolution with business users and technical support teams.
• Business Process Improvement: Knowledge of approaches for assessing and improving business processes; ability to identify inefficiencies, recommend practical improvements, and help users apply CBS/SAP capabilities effectively.
• Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of methods and techniques for requirements analysis; ability to elicit, analyze, and document business needs and translate them into clear requirements for system support and process improvements.

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Systems, or a related field
• Experience supporting IT systems, business applications, or manufacturing systems
• Experience or working knowledge of SAP/CBS
• Understanding of business processes and requirements analysis
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Advanced English

• Relevant business-support experience with FI&CO, PP, SAP ME, MM and SD
• Manufacturing-process familiarity
• Experience with user training, local-language documentation, and process adoption
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in problem solving and customer service skills

• This role requires 5 days a week in office
