WhatJobs Direct is seeking a Senior International Contracts Lawyer to join its globally oriented legal team. This fully remote role allows work from anywhere in Mexico and focuses on drafting, negotiating, and advising on complex international contracts, including sales, distribution, and JVs.

The ideal candidate holds a law degree with Mexican bar admission, 8+ years in international contract law, and strong CISG/Incoterms knowledge. Fluency in Spanish and English is required.

Qualifications

• Must possess a law degree and be admitted to the Mexican bar.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience focused on international commercial contract law.
• Extensive experience drafting and negotiating cross-border agreements (sales, distribution, JVs, licensing).
• Strong understanding of CISG, Incoterms, conflict of laws, and international dispute resolution.

Responsabilités

• Lead drafting, negotiation, and finalization of complex international commercial contracts.
• Provide expert legal advice on cross-border transactions, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution.
• Ensure all international agreements comply with applicable laws in relevant jurisdictions.
• Collaborate with regional legal teams and external counsel to manage international matters.
• Develop and implement standardized contract templates and playbooks for international operations.
• Conduct legal risk assessments for international ventures and partnerships.
• Advise business development and sales teams on contractual strategies for global markets.
• Manage the contract lifecycle from initiation to termination.
• Stay updated on international trade laws, sanctions, geopolitical developments.
