Job summary

Pellera Technologies Mexico is seeking an experienced IBM Power Systems Engineer to support and optimize enterprise IBM Power environments. You will administer, monitor, and continuously improve the IBM Power infrastructure across Power8/9/10 platforms, leveraging virtualization and storage technologies in mission‑critical settings.

The role involves firmware updates, capacity planning, on‑call rotations, and collaboration with cross‑functional teams to ensure high availability and performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with IBM Power Systems administration.
• Strong experience with HMC, VIOS and LPAR management.
• Experience with Power virtualization technologies.
• Knowledge of SAN environments, storage integration and networking concepts.
• Experience with performance tuning and infrastructure monitoring.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Familiarity with ITIL‑based support environments and ticketing systems.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support IBM Power Systems (Power8/9/10).
• Manage HMC, VIOS and LPAR environments.
• Configure and support Power virtualization technologies.
• Perform firmware updates and routine infrastructure maintenance.
• Manage SAN connectivity, NPIV, MPIO, zoning and storage integration.
• Support Live Partition Mobility operations.
• Monitor system performance and conduct capacity planning.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Develop automation scripts using Bash or Korn Shell.
• Participate in customer escalations and 24x7 on‑call rotations.
