Athenaworks is seeking a Mid-Senior Full-Stack Engineer in Mexico City to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services with RESTful APIs. You will collaborate on technical design, own features end-to-end, and contribute to frontend tasks using React and TypeScript.

The role emphasizes testing, code reviews, performance tuning, and proactive problem solving in a fast-paced startup. English fluency and ownership culture are essential.

Formación

• 4+ years of professional software development with full-stack experience.
• Backend services in Java or Python.
• Relational databases design and query optimization.
• AWS ecosystem including SQS, SNS, Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB.
• React and TypeScript experience, frontend testing with Jest or Cypress.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable backend services and RESTful APIs.
• Collaborate with team members to create technical design recommendations for the development and integration of new features based on requirements.
• Take full ownership of features from conception to deployment, including database schema design, backend logic, API development, and frontend implementation.
• Implement unit, integration, and functional tests across the full stack, ensuring quality, focusing on edge cases, and driving usability.
• Participate in code reviews for both frontend and backend code, ensuring clean, efficient, and best practices compliant code.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across the stack, from database queries to UI rendering.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues reported by users, working across the system as needed.
• Use artificial intelligence (AI) tools across the entire software development lifecycle to boost efficiency, automate tasks, and catch issues early. This involves using AI for code assistance, advanced testing/debugging, and CI/CD optimization.
