Job summary

Marsh in Mexico City is seeking a Senior IT Security Specialist to join our Security Architecture team within NSI. This hybrid role requires three days in office weekly and focuses on governance, review, and approval of firewall security controls across a global enterprise.

You will maintain documentation for audit and control activities, assess changes for least privilege, and collaborate with network, cloud, and platform teams to provide practical security guidance.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years of experience in IT security, network security, or related discipline.
• Experience reviewing, assessing, or governing firewall rules in enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of network security concepts, segmentation, and access control.
• Experience with formal change management or ITSM processes.
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret complex configurations and historical changes.
• Effective communication and client service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve firewall change requests submitted through formal change management processes.
• Assess firewall changes and existing rules for alignment with security requirements, standards, and least privilege principles.
• Identify non-compliant or higher-risk changes and support resolution via risk acceptance processes.
• Perform periodic and targeted reviews of deployed firewall rules for ongoing compliance.
• Analyze complex rule sets and historical changes to understand design decisions.
• Provide security oversight for enterprise firewall environments, including Palo Alto Networks and cloud-native firewalls.
• Maintain documentation and evidence to support governance, audit, and control assurance activities.
• Partner with network, cloud, and platform teams to offer practical security guidance.
• Contribute to improvements in firewall governance processes through standardization and tools.
