Job summary

Grupo TECMA is seeking a Finance professional to lead and support financial close, budgeting, and manufacturing cost analyses in a manufacturing maquiladora environment.

You will prepare journal entries, reconcile balances, analyze P&L variances, and ensure accurate financial reporting. The role requires strong Excel skills, ERP experience, and advanced English for collaboration with U.S. and international teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Licenciatura en Contaduría Pública preferred).
• Professional certifications (CPA, CMA, MBA) are a plus.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in Accounting, Finance, Cost Accounting, or Plant Finance.
• Experience in a manufacturing and/or maquiladora environment required.
• Experience supporting monthly close, budgeting, forecasting, and account reconciliations.
• Exposure to inventory accounting and cost accounting strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.
• Prepare and review journal entries in accordance with US GAAP and company policies.
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate reconciling items.

• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting packages.
• Support fixed asset accounting, inventory accounting, accruals, and reserves.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Monitor operating expenses against budget and identify risks and opportunities.
• Provide variance analysis and recommendations to management.
• Support development of labor, overhead, and spending models.
• Track and report cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partner with Operations to analyze manufacturing costs, labor efficiency, absorption, scrap, and productivity.
• Support inventory management and cycle count analysis.
• Monitor manufacturing variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist in standard cost updates and cost accounting activities.
• Participate in monthly plant performance reviews.

Financial Close & Accounting

• Support and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.


• Prepare and review journal entries in accordance with US GAAP and company policies.


• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate reconciling items.


• Analyze P&L results and explain monthly variances versus budget, forecast, and prior year.


• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting packages.

Compliance & Internal Controls

• Support external and internal audit requirements.


• Assist with statutory and maquiladora compliance requirements.


• Coordinate documentation requests from auditors and government agencies.


• Ensure compliance with corporate policies and internal control procedures.


• Support SAT, tax, and regulatory compliance initiatives as required.

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Licenciatura en Contaduría Pública preferred).
