Schneider Electric in Monterrey, Mexico, is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer to lead the development of electrical and automation solutions for advanced manufacturing equipment. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and drive projects from concept through commissioning.

You will create schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and BOMs, apply automation tech including robotics and vision systems, perform electrical calculations, and validate designs through testing

Formación

  • Proven experience designing electrical systems for industrial automation equipment and manufacturing applications.
  • Strong knowledge of power distribution, control systems, automation technologies, and industrial networking.
  • Experience developing and reviewing schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and manufacturing docs.
  • Familiarity with robotics, servo drives, machine safety, vision systems, and automated equipment.
  • Ability to validate designs via simulations, testing, and experimental methods.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead the design of electrical and communication systems for automated machinery and high-volume manufacturing processes.
  • Develop detailed electrical deliverables: schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, cable schedules, and BOMs.
  • Apply automation technologies including robotics, vision, conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and control systems.
  • Perform electrical calculations for sizing devices, conductors, protection, and power distribution components.
  • Conduct simulations, testing, and design validation to optimize performance before procurement and installation.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including specs, reports, manuals, and installation requirements.

Senior Electrical Designer

Join us as a Senior Electrical Designer where you will lead the development of innovative electrical and automation solutions for advanced manufacturing equipment. This role offers the opportunity to work with cross-functional engineering teams, influence design standards, and drive projects from concept through commissioning while contributing to the next generation of automated machines and production systems.

What will you do?
  • Lead the design of electrical and communication systems for automated machinery and high-volume manufacturing processes
  • Develop detailed electrical engineering deliverables including schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, cable schedules, and bills of materials
  • Apply expertise in automation technologies including robotics, servo systems, vision systems, conveyors, pick-and-place applications, pneumatics, hydraulics, and industrial control systems
  • Perform electrical calculations to properly size electrical devices, conductors, protection systems, and power distribution components
  • Conduct simulations, testing, and design validation activities to optimize system performance prior to procurement and installation
  • Create and maintain technical documentation including design specifications, engineering reports, operating manuals, and installation requirements
  • Review supplier drawings and technical submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and dimensional requirements
  • Support sourcing and procurement activities by selecting electrical components and evaluating technical solutions from suppliers
  • Collaborate with automation engineers, technicians, and manufacturing teams to ensure equipment is assembled and commissioned according to design intent and quality requirements
  • Drive the development and standardization of ECAD libraries, electrical design practices, and engineering standards across the organization
  • Participate in technical design reviews to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements
  • Support equipment installation, startup, and commissioning activities to achieve safety, quality, reliability, and production performance objectives
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing sites and project stakeholders following equipment deployment
  • Partner with engineering teams across North America and global locations to develop innovative solutions and continuous improvements for automated equipment and manufacturing processes

  • Communication — intermediate level; effectively communicating technical concepts, design changes, and project updates to stakeholders
  • Standards & Compliance — advanced level; ensuring designs comply with applicable electrical codes, safety requirements, and company standards
  • Project Execution — intermediate level; managing priorities and delivering high-quality design outputs on schedule
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration — advanced level; working effectively with mechanical, automation, manufacturing, sourcing, and field service teams
  • Technical Documentation — advanced level; producing accurate and comprehensive engineering documentation that supports execution and knowledge sharing
  • Continuous Improvement — intermediate level; driving standardization and process enhancements to improve engineering efficiency and quality
What qualifications will make you successful?
  • Proven experience designing electrical systems for industrial automation equipment, special-purpose machinery, or manufacturing applications
  • Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution, control systems, industrial networking, and automation technologies
  • Experience developing and reviewing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and manufacturing documentation
  • Understanding of robotics, servo drives, machine safety systems, vision systems, and automated production equipment
  • Ability to perform electrical calculations and validate designs through simulation, testing, and experimental methods
  • Experience supporting equipment installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and manufacturing operations
  • Strong ability to collaborate with global engineering teams, suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence
  • Ability to mentor less experienced engineers and contribute to the development of engineering standards and best practices
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support equipment installation, startup, and customer-facing activities
