Job summary

Yanfeng Saltillo site is seeking an experienced design engineer to develop and deliver product design datasets (2D/3D) from concept to production. You will lead design solutions for programs from Award through Start of Production and manage design files to meet tooling kick-off dates.

Applying knowledge of plastic part design and injection-molding, you will release CAD data timely, meet performance and manufacturing requirements, and perform root-cause analyses with lean problem-solving tools.

Qualifications

• University degree in STEM.
• Typically 5+ years of experience.
• Communicate effectively with standard tools and face-to-face with customers.
• Work effectively to lead in a team environment including global resources.
• Manage Engineering change process (Teamcenter experience).

Responsibilities

• Development and delivery of product design datasets (2D/3D) from concept to production.
• Lead the development of design solutions and support projects from Award through Start of Production.
• Manage design files and drawings in the file library system (e.g., Teamcenter).
• Ensure on-time release of drawings and CAD data to meet tooling kick-off dates.
• Design to meet customer performance and manufacturing requirements; address risks.
• Root-cause analysis and countermeasures for design/manufacturing issues; lead tasks to completion.
• Apply Lean engineering principles and problem-solving tools (8D, 5-Why, benchmarking).
