Job summary

DoorDash is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join the Tax Data Mart team. You will own data ingestion, transformation, and governance to ensure accurate data is available for analytics and business users. You will design, implement, and operate data pipelines supporting the company’s growth.

You will collaborate with Analytics, Data Science, and business partners, leverage DBT and AI tooling, and drive data quality and observability across the data stack.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a data engineering or similar role.
• Experience using Data Build Tool (DBT) or a similar product to manage data flows.
• Experience using Claude, Cursor and similar AI tools.
• You are an expert at using SQL with experience using Snowflake.
• Proficiency in Python (or a comparable language) for building data pipelines.
• Experience with modern data stack and orchestration tools such as Airflow, Spark, or Kafka.
• Project management experience, including creation of project plans, milestones, and due dates.
• Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related degree.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) for data across the company.
• Develop and optimize data models and warehouse structures to support analytics and reporting.
• Participate in new business initiatives and identify data system impacts.
• Collaborate with Analytics, Data Science, and business partners on new data sources.
• Identify and document business, functional and technical requirements for new initiatives.
• Leverage AI tooling to build and automate recurring data tasks and pipelines.
• Monitor data quality, reliability, and observability; resolve data issues.
• Define data tooling needs and maintain existing systems.
• Prepare documentation for data systems and processes.
• Share knowledge and best practices with engineers and analysts.
