Job summary

TIMSA in Mexicali, MX is seeking a Manager of Customs to lead cross-border trade compliance between Mexico and the United States. You will supervise the customs team and brokers, ensure compliance with Ley Aduanera, IMMEX, Annex 24/30, USMCA and export controls, and drive risk reduction and process optimization across import/export flows.

The role requires deep regulatory knowledge, strong leadership, and hands-on management of Annex 24/30 systems and ERP integrations, with a focus on accuracy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in international business or related field; Master’s degree desirable.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in customs, international trade, or trade compliance, with 3–5 years in manufacturing in Mexico.
• Expert knowledge of Mexican and U.S. customs regulations including IMMEX/maquiladora and Annex 24/30.
• Strong experience with HS/HTS classification, valuation, origin rules, and USMCA.
• Experience leading compliance programs, brokers, and Annex 24/30 systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all import and export processes between the U.S. and Mexico.
• Lead and supervise customs brokers in Mexico and the U.S.
• Maintain and enforce company customs policies and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with Ley Aduanera, Reglas Generales de Comercio Exterior, SAT requirements, and Annex 24/30.
• Drive risk reduction, audit readiness, and process optimization across cross-border operations.
• Manage Annex 24/30 inventory systems and real-time reconciliation.
