Siemens Energy seeks a Civil/Structural Engineer for turnkey EPC HV substation projects. You will perform detailed design for HV substations and transmission projects, and develop calculations for GIS foundations with seismic compliance.

You will review external packages and ensure designs meet standards and constructability. Role involves creating steel drawings, reviewing manufacturer documentation, and updating the Project Manager on progress and risks.

Formación

• 5+ years of Civil and Structural Eng experience for High Voltage, Distribution and Generation.
• Professional Engineering License is required.
• Extensive knowledge of IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, ANSI standards.

Responsabilidades

• Develop conceptual designs for pricing and perform civil/structural designs and calculations.
• Review and approve outside engineering packages and manufacturer docs for compliance.

• Flag risks/delays; support Project Execution and customer meetings.

A Snapshot of Your Day

The Civil/Structural Engineer is responsible for the engineering activities required for turnkey EPC high voltage substation projects, including detailed design for high voltage substation and transmission projects. This position will offer the ability to directly apply candidate’s knowledge of civil and structural engineering in substation and transmission projects. Work on calculations for a GIS foundation, ensuring the design meets seismic requirements. Participate in a project meeting with the design team to discuss the conceptual designs for an upcoming project. Review and approve an engineering package from an external consultant. This involves checking the accuracy of calculations, compliance with standards, and overall constructability. Create detailed drawings and specifications for steel structures and overhead bus. Review technical documentation from a manufacturer to ensure it aligns with the project’s specifications. Update the Project Manager on the day's progress, including any potential delays or risks identified during the day. Discuss next steps and adjustments to the project schedule if necessary.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Prepare calculations including seismic requirements, drawings and specifications for grading, buildings, foundations, steel structures, overhead conductors, and rigid bus.
• Develop conceptual designs for pricing purposes, Perform civil and structural designs and calculations.
• Review and approve outside engineering packages. Review manufacturer’s technical documentation.
• Ensure internal and outsourced engineering is in compliance with project requirements, customer specifications, governing standards and constructability sound judgment.
• Ensure that the engineering deliverables meet the target schedule dates, makes aware the Project Manager of possible delays or risk in the particular project. Support Proposal and Project Execution teams in the execution of a project and in customer meetings.

What You Bring

• 5 years or more of experience in Civil and Structural Engineering for High Voltage, Distribution and Generation applications for Utility and Industrial customers. Experience with design of High Voltage Gas-Insulated Substations, Air-Insulated Substations, mobile substations.
• Professional Engineering License required.
• Extensive knowledge of IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, ANSI standards.
• Knowledge of discipline specific software such as StaadPro, SAP 2000, RISA, SAG-10, L-Pile. Revit, AutoCAD or Micro-Station.
• Good communication skills. Advanced English level.
