Jobgether is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (Orchestration) for a fully remote role based in Mexico. You will lead backend development for high-performance distributed systems, with a focus on orchestration and scalable payments workflows.

Qualifications

• In-depth understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Experience designing and implementing backend services for distributed systems.
• Knowledge of developer frameworks and workflows for integrations.
• Proficiency in a backend language; Python is advantageous.
• Familiarity with TDD and BDD is beneficial.
• Understanding of scalable system design, testing strategies, and maintainable architecture.
• Knowledge of the payments industry and optimizing merchant/developer experiences.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A self-motivated, proactive approach with ownership and autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain core backend services for high-performance distributed systems.
• Take ownership of key technical decisions balancing scalability, reliability, maintainability, and delivery speed.
• Build and optimize backend architecture to support evolving product requirements and growth.
• Write clean, modern, well-tested code following established engineering standards.
• Apply TDD/BDD practices where appropriate and improve testing culture.
• Develop and improve frameworks, tools, and workflows for integrations with customers/partners.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver user- and business-focused solutions.
• Conduct code reviews, share knowledge, and enhance engineering practices.
• Create comprehensive technical documentation to support long-term maintainability.
• Contribute to payment workflows and the developer experience for merchants and partners.
